Maybelle will be bred to Mac on her next heat with pups expected early-2019.
UKC CH Mac and Maybelle will be bred probably November-December 2018, with pups due January-February 2019. This will be a diverse litters, verifiable through the DNA tests performed by UC Davis and compared in BetterBred’s database. Mac and Maybelle have enough genetic differences to meet our goal of helping to improve the health and vitality of standard poodles. CH Mac is a serious, yet friendly boy who loves his people and strangers, but also loves to work. He is currently being trained for hunting (he is a birdy boy). He is a 26” tall, muscular dog; and it is his size and genetic differences to Maybelle that has made him an attractive sire for Maybelle’s upcoming litter. While Mac’s genetic testing has not yet been completed due to age (born 1/4/2017), some of his relatives have been tested (see links at the bottom of Mac’s sire’s OFA record and dam’s OFA record). Since OFA records are spotty, further research (via the Poodle Health Registry) into the health of 5 generations of his ancestors produces no issues of concern.Maybelle is a gentle giant; truly a sweet, sweet girl. That said, Maybelle still loves mixing it up with our other dogs on the trails around our property a couple of times daily, so she is no couch potato. We are expecting an all brown litter from this breeding. Maybelle does not carry the cream gene, so it is impossible for her to produce cream, regardless of who she is bred to. Also, Maybelle does not carry the parti gene, so they will not have parti pups, but may have pups with mismarks.Genetic test results are quantifiable on OFA's site for Maybelle. Maybelle’s pups will have both their dew claws and their natural tails.
